Where do addictions start with smartphones? You obviously know you have a phone addiction when you are trying to get work done, but you get a message and suddenly stop working and later forget what you were working on. Technology is addicting to a lot of people, causing them to not keep on track of what they are working on at that time. Hence, phone addictions are really a big deal that the people can’t get off of them and it is like a drug--you just can’t get off of it!
Since there is early exposure to technology, teenagers are getting distracted with technology and are addicted to cell phones because of ease of access, cool apps and games, and social media. In an article by The Washington Post, women are on their phones more than 10 hours a day and men use them more than seven hours a day on their phones. |
It is mostly on the following social media apps, such as Instagram and Pinterest, engendered the most addiction-related responses. Phone addiction is just like gambling and cocaine addiction and makes for a really bad habit. Smartphone addiction is real. People have become so dependent on smartphones, they can barely do anything without them. Parents give their kids phones so they can stay connected and be entertained, yet where is the limit to how much access children have to the internet before they get addicted?
